Fernando Danilo González-Nilo 
Director / > TD5 Lab

Dr. González-Nilo is the Director of the Center of Bioinformatics and Integrative Biology, from Universidad Andres Bello in Chile. Is a chemist and PhD in Chemical Sciences, postdoc in National Cancer Institute (USA). With more than 17 years of experience in chemistry and computational biology, Dr. González has more than 110 ISI articles and 3 patent applications. His research lines are related to theoretical biophysics applied to ionic channels and enzymes, bio-nanotechnology applied to controlled release of RNAi, peptides and drugs; computational design of drugs, peptides and protein engineering.

 


José Manuel Pérez Donoso
Bio-Nanotechnology and Microbiology Lab

Biochemist and PhD in Microbiology of University of Santiago Chile, postdoc in University of Western Ontario, Canada and University of Santiago Chile, where he specialised in bacterial pathogenicity mechanisms and tolerance of heavy materials mechanisms. With over 13 years of experience in research, Dr. Pérez has published more than 30 articles and presented 3 patent applications. Since 2011 Dr. Pérez leads the Bio-nanotechnology and Microbiology Lab at CBIB.

 


Daniel Aguayo Villegas
Molecular Biophysics and Bioinformatics Group

Biochemist and Master in Biochemistry from Universidad Andrés Bello, and PhD in Applied Sciences from Universidad de Talca, Dr. Aguayo has specialized in advanced simulation methods and its application in the study of nanoparticles and biomolecules. Currently leads the Molecular Biophysics and Bioinformatics Group at CBIB.

 


Ignacio Poblete Castro
> Biosystems Engineering Lab

Engineer and Master in Environmental Sciences from the University of Santiago Chile. Dr. Poblete did his doctorate studies in Systems Biotechnology at the German Center for Biotechnology (GBF) and a Postdoc in Bioprocess Engineering at the Institute of Bioprocess Engineering of the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany. Currently leads the Biosystems Engineering Laboratory.

 


Eduardo Castro Nallar
Microbial Genomics Lab

Biochemist of University of Santiago Chile, and PhD in Biological Sciences from George Washington University, USA, Dr. Castro currently leads the Microbial Genomic Group at CBIB.

 


Matthieu Miossec
> Microbial Genomics Lab

Bioinformatics Scientist and MsC in Bioinformatics. PhD in Bioinformatics from the Institute of Genetic Medicine at Newcastle University in UK.

 


Hegaly Mendoza Vilches
Electron Microscopy Lab

Biochemist and PhD in Applied Sciences, Dr. Mendoza is dedicated to characterization of molecular interactions, which dominate the generation of proteic aggregates through the combination of simulation and low voltage electronic microscopy.

Cristian Vilos
>Nanomedicine and Targeted Delivery Lab

Medical Technologist of University of Talca, PhD in Biotechnology from University of Santiago, Chile, Dr. Vilos did his postdoc in Nanomedicine at Harvard University and currently leads his research group at CBIB in Nanomedicine and Targeted Delivery, oriented to the development of advanced polymeric nanoparticles for the targeted delivery of drugs.

 


Daniel Paredes-Sabja
>Microbiota and Clostridia Group

Food Engineer from Universidad Austral de Chile and PhD in Molecular Microbiology from Oregon State University specialized in Bacterial Pathogenesis with a postdoc in the same university. Dr. Paredes leads the Microbiota – Host Interactions and Clostridia research Group.
